In this newsletter, I will provide my 7 Cs framework that has helped me grow on LinkedIn from 2,000 followers in January 2022 to 137,526 followers in 12 months.
I did this while working full-time, dedicating just 1-2 hours outside work.
In the end, I’ll also announce my webinar LinkedIn Masterclass for Academics for you.
Growth on LinkedIn has been life-changing for me, enabling me to earn online (Eg, the sponsored shoutout above), expand my network (I reached 35 million people in 12 months), and establish domain expertise.
This transformation has also opened doors to numerous opportunities, including invitations to speaking engagements and job offers without applying.
After extensive posting and testing, here is my 7 Cs framework that could help you grow on LinkedIn as well:
Content research: This step will make or break your online growth.
After choosing your niche, you must differentiate between what you feel to write about vs. what people care to read. Choose the latter!
In my webinar, I’ll share my tested method for content research.Copywriting: Writing on LinkedIn is not a language competition, but your words do matter!
You need to learn the art of crafting compelling and clear content that captures attention, communicates value, and encourages interaction.I get very frustrated with LinkedIn posts where I can’t instantly figure out what’s being communicated.
In my webinar, I’ll share my list of “hooks” I use to get attention.Community: Provide value to your followers. Your audience is everything. Listen to their requests and needs.
I try my best to respond to comments and personal messages. I know many of my followers by name, I accept a lot of friend requests.Collaboration: Partner with other LinkedIn users or influencers in your field to expand your reach.
Collaborations can introduce your profile to a wider audience and bring fresh perspectives to your content.
Simply put, when a big user or a fellow user comments or likes your post, it is likely to be seen by many others.Customization: Tailor your content to develop a unique voice.
Copy/pasting content from others is not only plagiarism; it just doesn’t work on LinkedIn.
Consider your profile to be your brand. Use consistent colors, font styles, and posting styles that help you stand out.
This is why I mostly use grey, orange and yellow in my posts.Consistency: “Post consistently” is bullshit and cliche advice.
What you need is a system. I have created a content matrix which helps me batch-produce content and schedule content on specific topics on certain days.
I’ll show you how to create one in my webinar.Call to Action (CTA): Encourage your audience to engage with your content through clear calls to action.
Simply put, ask them to follow you or join your newsletter.
That is it! Thank God for everything, and thank you to everyone who follows me.
In summary, my 7 Cs to start growing your LinkedIn are content research, copywriting, community building, collaboration, customization, consistency, and call-to-action.
Let me hold your hand and show you how I do everything to build my LinkedIn in my upcoming webinar LinkedIn Mastery for Academics on February 24th, 2024.
It’s 50% off for anyone who registers by February 17th, 2024. (Exception: university and company representatives)
